- Start date
- The first pick was made after the close on 13 Oct 2026. The first buy was at the open on 14 Oct 2026.
- Money in
- $100 every trading day. It is a paper portfolio: each buy is recorded at the real market price, but no real money is spent.
- Buying
- After each US market close the strategy picks one stock. The $100 buys it at the next day’s opening price.
- Selling
- Nothing is sold. Losing picks stay in the portfolio and on this page.
- Dividends
- Included, for the picks and for the S&P 500.
- The comparison
- The same $100 goes into SPY, a fund that tracks the S&P 500, at the same open on the same days. Both are valued at every close.
- Costs and limits
- 0.05% comes off every buy, on both sides, for trading costs. Once the portfolio is over $2,000, no more than 10% goes into one stock or 30% into one sector: a pick that would break that is replaced by the next best.
